Abby Tegnelia is the CEO of Empire Media Network, the publisher of Saratoga Living—the premier lifestyle magazine in Saratoga Springs. There, she spearheaded the magazine’s first-ever Food & Drink issue (published September 2023), revved up its community-building events program, and launched the magazine’s first Substack, After Hours—a thrice-weekly “in the know” look of the town’s restaurants, people and local quirks. During this time, she also ushered Saratoga Living and its sister magazine, Capital Region Living, through the pandemic, and published the programs for Albany Symphony Orchestra and SPAC’s classical season. Before moving to the Capital Region in 2019, Tegnelia lived in Northern California, where she was a prolific food and wine writer for publications and web sites such as Robb Report, Huffington Post, Expedia, Viator and Napa Sonoma magazine. She has a particular passion for celebrating local communities and served many years at the helm of Vegas magazine among others. During her more than 20 years in the magazine business, she has also served as News Director at In Touch, reporter/writer at Us Weekly, reporter at New York magazine, and has written for national and international titles including Marie Claire, Glamour, Women’s Wear Daily, Grazia, Voici and many more.
