Susan Kress is retired from Skidmore College, NY, where she served for 38 years as professor of English, and later as vice president for academic affairs and acting president. She was the inaugural holder of the Class of 1948 Chair for Excellence in Teaching. Since retirement, she has published poems in a variety of journals and serves on the board of WMHT and on the board of the Association of Retirement Organizations in Higher Education (AROHE), working to transform retirement in higher education and keep retirees productively connected to their communities.
